Jhamilee Rose Fashion Designer

“A Small Town Girl’s Journey”

Born and raised in Iloilo City, located in the Panay Island of the Philippines, Jhamilee Rose grew up in a simple provincial life watching her grandma, a seamstress, made school and office uniforms to help provide for the family. She already showed interest in the Art and Fashion field at a very young age, she always loved sewing and from then on she knew she wanted to be a Fashion Designer. She then immersed herself in portrait drawing and sketching summer classes to refine her natural skills at age 14, joined a modeling group in her hometown and from there she continued to show interest in Fashion. Jhamilee Rose was privileged enough to move to Manila, the capital city, after graduating High School. She took her talents to the School of Fashion and the Arts Institute to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Major in Fashion Design and Marketing Degree in 2013. However, she only completed the program for a year as she decided to transfer to  De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde later on.

In 2018, Jhamilee Rose completed her Bachelor of Arts Major in Fashion Design and Merchandising Degree for 4 years. As passionate and dedicated as she is, she excelled in all her major classes and that made her a consistent Dean’s Lister. After she presented her senior collection down the runway in 2018, her collection was featured online for Preview Magazine. It is the most comprehensive magazine source for fashion, beauty, parties and celebrity style in the Philippines. Out of 88 students, she was picked as one of the “24 Fashion Design students from College of Saint Benilde to watch out for”. Another feature is from StarStyle PH, also a famous online source for Fashion as “8 Young Fashion Designers to watch out for”. From there, she started getting magazine, newspaper and online features in the country and she also had a couple of well-known clients like beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach who was crowned Miss Universe 2015.

But for Jhamilee Rose to pursue her American Dream, she had to leave all those accomplishments behind. In February 2019, her dream to settle and work in New York City came to be. For her first job, Jhamilee Rose worked as an Assistant Technical Designer for the Knits Division for Macy’s and Walmart at Golden Touch Imports Group. In August 2019, she left the company and filled up a role as a Swim Assistant Technical Designer for Target’s Swimwear Brand KONA SOL at InPrivate, Inc. until March 2020. She then was offered a job at S2 Sportswear in the Garment District , NY as a Production Assistant and also assists Technical Design. She handled brands such as Nicole Miller, Body Glove, Laundry by Shelli Segal and TKO. She now works as an Asst. Production Manager for one of the biggest Swimwear manufacturer in the U.S based in New York City.
